Photos of Clare, the French Acadian Shore of Nova Scotia

Clare, or the "French Shore", lies between Yarmouth and Digby on St. Mary's Bay. It was settled from 1769 by returning French-speaking Acadians who had been exiled in 1755 by the new English masters of l'Acadie, or Nova Scotia. This is Lighthouse Beach, near Weymouth, near where they first settled.
